Prologue to my Novel by ~Glade-chan:iconGlade-chan:

Prologue

Colonization. That word, a word spoken in whispers throughout the galaxy, but most commonly known on Old Earth, had a hidden meaning to it. A meaning that would send even the most aged of men jumping as if in his youth, that would allow the caged animals to run free, and the frightened children to shout with happiness. It meant hope to all those who never knew none. It gave the cold and the hardened a new meaning to life, and those without a meaning, a purpose. This word, this sacred, forbidden word, gave everyone who heard it, a chance for a new life.

It was because of this word, that 3 of the ships in the Empire found themselves bound to a new journey that would also be their last and most great. As declared by the World Leader of Earth, in the year 3052, not a decade since the Galactic Wars of Surnia, the 3 war ships known as Orion,  Oceano Nebbia, and Galaxy XXII would be packed with the needed supplies for a 20 year expedition, and have enough room to accommodate 200 passengers per ship.

The destination? An E-starred plant in the Aquarius system 3 billion space jumps from the planet Turbon, and another 6 billion from Earth. Why this planet, this one planet that is practically hovering out in space on its own, when there are hundreds of others closer to civilization? Its isolation was just the thing that attracted the Empire Council upon its discovery 20 years ago. Originally, it was to be used as a docking point during the wars for Earth and their ally space fighters, but, due to its distance, it was impossible. Now, a new reason for its use was thought of. Why not use the planet to create a new colony? A colony for those people who want to return to the simpler life, away from the violence, and the metal foundations that now cover once green and thriving worlds, a place where they would be free from the ever dictating politicians and government officials, a place where they would create a new form of goverment, and would live in peace with the surrounding nature.

The idea was met with great enthusiasm by many people, and soon enough, the passenger limit for each ship was filled. Whole families were ready to move on from the terrible memories of the violent wars, and new ones were waiting to be made. Parting words were said to old time friends and family members being left behind, while new bonds were beginning to forge. And, on June 18, 3054, two whole years since the idea was given to the world, the space ships Orion, Galaxy XXII, and Oceano Nebbia took off from Earth’s moon colony and out into open space.

One last glance at their old home, where each of the passengers was born, and the ships jumped into hyper space. The passengers were put into hibernation like sleep that would allow them to stay the age they were when beginning the journey, and when they wake up 20 years into the future, the next planet they will see will be their new home.

Author's Comments

This is the prologue for the novel I am currently working on. I've yet to name it, but, when I do, I'll fix the title here, and maybe post a new Journal for the idea. ^^

For those who want to know what the book will be about, send me a note, and I'll give you a brief summary that will give you an idea, but, for certain reasons I'm sure most of you can understand, not enough to give you all a solid picture. Anyways, please comment and tell me what you think. Thanks!

Also, for those that like Naruto and fanfiction around that, check out my other, casual account, that has a link to my FF profile, and my most popular story up, along with some of my art. :)
